It's time for a bunch of recommendations that will hopefully add some value or intrigue to your life this week...
How to express your thoughts more clearly
As a person who is in the business of communicating ideas, I loved this article from Alan Alda (remember him? From MASH?). In short, make no more than three points, express complex points in three different ways, and repeat your main points three times. Sounds simple. But it works. And perhaps not surprisingly, it's easy to remember.
Want to know how the Four Day Week actually works?
I recently did an Ask Me Anything event on this very question - you can check out the recording of the event on today's How I Work podcast.
The best pens for....everything!
If you are a stationery fiend like me AND have a habit of losing pens, you will love this article. It's a super comprehensive review of the best pens for any use or situation. The piece even has recommendations for the best pens for lefties, and given I have a left-handed daughter, I will most definitely be buying her the Pilot Multi Ball Rollerball Pen.
What is the best way to learn? (Clue: It doesn't involve making highlights in books)
I loved this piece by Psychology Professor Daniel Willingham in the NYT about how to get better at learning (ironically, a critical skill that is generally not taught at schools or universities). In a nutshell, commonly used strategies such as cramming and highlighting don't work. Instead, make a plan, space out your practice sessions, and link what you learn to broader themes and concepts.
I love hearing from readers - let me know in the comments which tips and advice you enjoyed from today’s post :)

Cheers
