I have news:

Substack is officially my new writing home. Welcome :)

Every week, I'll be sharing one (or more!) practical tip, gadget, research finding, or strategy that will improve your life. It might be something to make you happier, healthier, more productive, or live a more impactful life.

I've called this new home One Percent Better. If we break change down into tiny little things to do differently every day, we will have a big impact over time. Nerds (like me) refer to this idea as Marginal Gains Theory. Feel free to name-drop that at your next dinner party.

So big changes can come from making small adjustments to our behaviour right now.

Why I made the move

I have been writing to you via MailChimp for the last few years. This allowed me to send stuff to you, but for the most part, didn’t allow you to join in the conversation. I also share my work via LinkedIn and Instagram, which you may or may not see, depending on the mood the algorithm is in that day.

I want to hear from you. I want to have more of a two-way conversation (one-way conversations kind of suck. And they are lonely).

I want to hear what challenges you are tackling in your life, which will help me curate content for One Percent Better. And in this space, you'll be able to connect with other subscribers, share ideas, and I'll be able to chime in too, with my two cents worth.

I'd love your support

As always, most of my writing (including this weekly newsletter) and all of my podcasting will remain free. This is because my mission is to impact as many people as possible through my work.

But for those who want to go a bit deeper, want a bit more help, want more access to practical tips and hacks, I'm also offering a paid membership.

Many hours go into researching and writing every article and newsletter that I put out into the world. I have never charged because I want as many people as possible to benefit from my work and advice. That said, I strongly believe that meaningful work, work that makes a difference to your life, should have a value, even if that value is small.

With that in mind, the paid membership is $7 per month or $70 per year - so a bit over $1 per week. My hope is that my work provides at least one dollar’s worth of value to your life every week.

(I have kept the price as low as I can, but also, if you really can’t afford it (e.g. are a student, have major cost of living pressures, are unemployed, etc) but want in, drop me a note at amantha@inventium.com.au and I would be happy to provide you membership as a gift).

If you become a paid subscriber, apart from my deep gratitude (which is invaluable, right?), you will also have access to:

  • A quarterly Ask Me Anything event, exclusive to subscribers.

  • The entire archive of One Percent Better tips.

  • Discounts to events and programs run by my consultancy Inventium.

  • Other fun random bonuses and surprises.

You can become a paid subscriber (or upgrade from a free subscription) using the button below.

If you can’t afford to support my work, you will still get tips delivered to your inbox once a week and my podcast How I Work will continue to be free to consume whenever you feel like getting some life wisdom.

Alrighty! You can expect to receive your first One Percent Better tip later this week.

Cheers
