The AI-powered journal I am obsessed with
I am a highly irregular journaller. I know I should journal, I know it’s good for me, but other things get in the way. Until I discovered Rosebud. I am so in love with this journalling software that I actually look forward to reflecting on my day via the Rosebud app. It’s AI-powered and is surprisingly good at asking me relevant and useful probing questions so I can go deeper with my thinking plus it gives me a little summary and some insights when I have wrapped up my daily journalling.
Do you wear a sleeping mask to bed? This is why you need to start.
After suffering from bad insomnia during my 20s and at times, during my 30s, I became a sleeping mask wearer. I’ve recently started to question whether my dependence on my mask (I have trouble sleeping without it) is healthy, but then, I read this research paper which found that wearing a sleep mask to bed significantly improves next day alertness and also how well we encode memories. I am a massive fan of these sleeping masks because they don’t crush your eyelids like some masks do.

I am a big fan of the Huberman Lab podcast (IMHO, one of the best and most informative health podcasts in the world), but my goodness, the episodes are LOOOONG. Thankfully, someone has trained up an AI on every single Huberman Lab episode. Ask it any health-related question you like and the AI will scan through the relevant notes and get you an informed answer.
The best advice from all professions
I discovered this thread on Reddit which asked the question: What’s your best advice from your profession? Some of my favourite answers are:
As a doctor I would say never be afraid to get a second opinion. If your doctor is offended, that is just one more reason to get one.
Teacher: Read to your kids. Go over multiplication with your kids. Talk with your kids. You are your child's first educator and they bring into the classroom what you give them. In most situations where kids struggle in school, it's because the parents never taught them anything.
Social worker: please just ask for help.
My mom was a nurse. Never hang a picture, mirror or chandelier over a sofa or bed.
Systems administrator here. Before contacting IT for any issues you have, please reboot (not shutdown) your computer/tablet/phone and see if it fixes the problem.
